SELECTING KEYWORD SEARCH TERMS
Is there a maximum number of key words I can use?
There is no hard limit, but clients typically send us 20-30 terms.
What kinds of words should I include?
Keywords can range from category/industry terms to highly specific terms related to the project in question. Make sure to think about "adjacent" words that may signal intent to purchase in your category/industry. Note that the more general the term, the more likely it is to appear, and it might not be as meaningful. That is not to suggest you shouldn't be searching for everything, but we would encourage you to try specific terminology that signals intent as well.
What about including competitors, company and product names?
We encourage you to include in your keyword list your company/product names as well as those of any relevant competitors.
Can I change my keywords?
We can refine your list of keywords after your first report - but we do encourage you to get us a good list for that first run. Also, we can add keywords in between reports as long as we have sufficient notice. If we receive any new keywords by the 15th of the month we can get them in the next report.
Does the order of the keywords matter?
We use your keywords in the order in which they were submitted. If there is a specific order you would like to see them in for the final reports, please send it to us that way. Some clients prefer to order them by department, especially if shared amongst many areas of their company.
