We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Generative AI Developer to join our innovative product team. In this high-impact role, you will be a core contributor, rapidly prototyping and deploying AI-driven applications that enhance K-12 data intelligence, ultimately impacting millions of students and educators. You will gain hands-on experience developing features using Python, LLMs, Vector Databases, and RAG architectures in a fast-paced, weekly deployment cycle.
The position is 100% remote and requires residency in one of the states where Burbio is registered for business, including Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Florida, New Jersey and New York. This is an excellent, high-growth opportunity for a recent graduate or an aspiring AI professional eager to build and deploy production-ready Generative AI solutions within a collaborative startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a key contributor to our product team, you will:
- Drive the end-to-end development of new features, from concept and architecture to weekly deployment, focusing on Generative AI and LLM integration.
- Implement robust data ingestion pipelines using AI and NLP to gather complex K-12 data from various online sources.
- Engineer custom parsing solutions leveraging cutting-edge NLP techniques to transform unstructured documents (e.g., PDFs, HTML) into structured, queryable data.
- Collaborate closely with the product team to integrate new AI solutions into Burbio’s platforms.
- Measure and optimize the performance (e.g., latency, cost, and accuracy) of deployed AI models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Conduct research on emerging Generative AI trends and tools to suggest and build innovative applications for our product suite.
- Participate actively in code reviews, team meetings, and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
- Assist in testing, debugging, and refining AI features to ensure reliability and scalability.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Expertise in Python (This is your primary development language).
- Proven theoretical and/or project-based experience with Generative AI concepts, including:
- Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
- Vector embeddings/databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred:
- Direct experience deploying applications on a major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and integrating third-party APIs.
- Practical experience with advanced Prompt Engineering
- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with the US K-12 public school system
