Keywords are easiest to use when you have specific terms that - when mentioned in a document in any context - will be actionable.  Signals can be used when you are looking for more specific context.  For example, curriculum subject areas like ELA or Math can show up hundreds of times in documents but if you really want to know where the district is in considering or implementing  a new ELA or Math curriculum-- then you can use a signal that asks just that.  

 

There are two primary things that make a keyword helpful:

• It is actionable. A good test is if you can compete this sentence:  If I find districts that mention "insert keyword here", that will allow (me/sales/marketing/other"  to "insert action here" (examples would be "target an email campaign", "add them to my leads list", customize an email outreach to them", etc.)   
  
  
• Seeing the current and historical use of the keyword at the DISTRICT/Account level provides helpful information for account meeting prep or account planning.

 

 

Simply send an email to beth@burbio.com referencing "New Keywords" in the Subject line and specify if your additions are keywords or competitor names.
